Mercy Community Services’ Lowood Hub provides an Integrated Early Years’ Service, Targeted Family Support Service and Centrelink Agency to support families living in the Lowood and surrounding area. Lowood Hub also manages bookings for the Lowood Community Centre, kindly supported by Somerset Regional Council.
About the Integrated Early Years’ Service
The Integrated Early Years’ Service is a one-stop shop for local families to access multiple services, or referrals to specialist services. This service helps strengthen a family’s connection to the community by providing confidential support in a one-on-one environment, in addition to referrals to services for family support and wellbeing; playgroups; parenting support; child and maternal health services; literacy activities and programs, and parenting group programs. Contact the Lowood Hub to speak to one of our team about our services.
Targeted Family Support
The Targeted Family Support Service provides families with confidential support and skills to enhance their parenting abilities and family capabilities in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Our team at the Lowood Hub also help facilitate the delivery of groups focusing on, supporting and strengthening family connections and relationships, household management assistance, making social connections and childhood development.
The pop-up playgroup is a partnership between Mercy Community Services, Somerset Regional Council (Libraries), Anglicare Southern Queensland and Playgroup Queensland. A supported playgroup is delivered once a week during term time at one of three rural locations in the Lowood region.
This supported playgroup is free, morning tea is included, everyone is welcome and fine and gross motor skill activities are provided.
For information on groups being held in Term 1 in 2018 in Coominya, Atkinson Dam, and Patrick Estate, please download the flyer or contact the Lowood Hub on 07 5426 3432.
The Centrelink Agent provides free self-service phones, computers, fax and photocopiers to claim benefits, speak to Centrelink staff or call prospective employers. Our team can also help you understand your rights and obligations when dealing with Centrelink and assist with general questions on payments and services.
We deliver the services of our Lowood Hub in partnership with the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, Department of Education and Training, and the Department of Human Services.
